Department of Neurology is a medical specialty dealing with the study and treatment of disorders of the nervous system such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and movement disorders. Neurologists often work with other health care providers for designing the treatment plan to suit their conditions, and explain the course of treatment to boost their confidence and health conditions. If the need arises for surgical intervention, the neurologist will refer the patient to a neurosurgeon to improve the eventual outcomes. Tests including nerve conduction studies, EMG etc are available. There is also a full-fledged sleep lab for the investigation and management of various sleep disorders.
