About Hospital

DEVAMATHA HOSPITAL is the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream of the people of KOOTHATTUKULAM for advanced medical care facilities especially in emergency situations. The hospital was established by us to commemorate the Birth Centenary of our Founder Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry. The new hospital was solemnly blessed on 14.02.1975 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Sebastian Vayalil, the then Bishop of Palai, in the august presence of his eminent successor Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Pallickaparampil.

Devamatha Hospital is well known in central Kerala for its Gastroenterology Centre. Begun as a humble venture consisting of 20 beds, 2 doctors and 14 sister-nurses, it has now grown into a multi-speciality hospital with 250 sanctioned beds and 100 functional beds, Our hospital is running with 25 senior efficient doctors, 74 nurses, 30 nun sisters, 20 office staffs and 80 paramedical staffs. Our constant effort to keep pace with the advancement in the medical field has resulted in the acquisition of many of the most modern medical equipments and techniques that ensure the best patient care.

This is a multi-specialty NABH Entry Level accredited hospital with the departments of General Medicine & Diabetology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics Including Joint Replacement, General & Laparoscopic Surgery, Neurology,  Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Urology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Dermatology & Venereology, Radiology, Anaesthesiology, Dentistry, and Psychiatry. In addition, we have a Hospice for the aged and disabled orphans and we conduct community health programs, medical camps, seminars, health education etc. to build a healthy community.
